About the Exhibition

The Idaho Falls National Exhibition is an annual juried exhibition by the Idaho Falls Arts Council and exhibited at the Willard Arts Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Artists working in all mediums throughout the United States are invited to submit. This is an open show with no geographic boundaries.

  • People's Choice - Winner featured on all promotional materials for the next year.


  • Over 5,000 people visit the exhibition each year
  • Exhibition artworks are included in a full color catalogue and on the IFAC's website
  • The People's Choice award winner is featured on all promotional materials for the next year


Artists may submit up to three artworks and should include one JPEG image of each artwork. You may enter online or by mail; an entry form must be filled out and must be received along with the JPEG submissions by January 16. You will be notified by email unless you include a stamped self-addressed envelope with your submission.

Important Dates

  • Wednesday, January 16 - Entries Due
  • Friday, February 15 - Acceptance Notification
  • Monday, March 11 - Accepted Artwork Due at the Willard Arts Center
  • Thursday, March 14 - Opening Reception and Awards Announcement
  • Monday, June 3 - Local Artwork Pick-up
  • Wednesday, June 6 - Mailed Artwork Shipped

Important Rules

  • Submissions can be made online or by mail (see above). Images must be JPEG and at least 300DPI
  • Entry fee is $40 or $35 for TAM Artist Members. If submitting online, please pay through the form. If mailing, please include a check for $35 with your entry or call the office at 208-522-0471
  • Artwork must have been created within the last three years and not been previously exhibited at the Willard Arts Center
  • Artists must be at least 14 years of age or older
  • Artists have the option of selling their artwork. Please note IFAC retains a 35% commission on all sales
  • Materials submitted with entries (CDs, USB drives) cannot be returned

2019 Juror

Joanna Barnum

Joanna Barnum is a painter based in Baltimore, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration and art history from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and has since made her living as an independent artist across the realms of fine art, illustration, and teaching. She is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society and serves on the boards of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters' Association. Joanna's work has been recognized by American Illustration, Illustration West, the “Splash: The Best in Watercolor” series from North Light Books, and at juried watercolor society exhibitions and plein air painting competitions around the country. She has worked with clients and collaborators including Renegade Game Studios, NASA, AARP, Cricket, and the Denve Museum of Nature and Science. Joanna teaches watercolor at Chesapeake Fine Art Studio in Maryland and as a guest workshop instructor and presenter for artist organizations.
