About the Exhibition

The Idaho Falls National Exhibition is an annual juried exhibition by the Idaho Falls Arts Council and exhibited at the Willard Arts Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Artists working in all mediums throughout the United States are invited to submit. This is an open show with no geographic boundaries.

  • People's Choice - Winner featured on all promotional materials for the next year.


Opportunities

  • Over 5,000 people visit the exhibition each year
  • Exhibition artworks are included in a full color catalogue and on the IFAC's website
  • The People's Choice award winner is featured on all promotional materials for the next year


Submission

Artists may submit up to three artworks and should include one JPEG image of each artwork. You may enter online or by mail; an entry form must be filled out and must be received along with the JPEG submissions by January 15. You will be notified by email unless you include a stamped self-addressed envelope with your submission.

Important Dates

  • Wednesday, January 15 - Entries Due
  • Friday, February 14 - Acceptance Notification
  • Monday, March 16 - Accepted Artwork Due at the Willard Arts Center
  • Thursday, March 19 - Opening Reception and Awards Announcement
  • Monday, June 1 - Local Artwork Pick-up
  • Wednesday, June 3 - Mailed Artwork Shipped


Important Rules

  • Submissions can be made online or by mail (see above). Images must be JPEG and at least 300DPI
  • Entry fee is $40 or $35 for TAM Artist Members. If submitting online, please pay through the form. If mailing, please include a check with your entry or call the office at 208-522-0471
  • Artwork must have been created within the last three years and not been previously exhibited at the Willard Arts Center
  • Artists must be at least 14 years of age or older
  • Artists have the option of selling their artwork. Please note IFAC retains a 35% commission on all sales
  • Materials submitted with entries (CDs, USB drives) cannot be returned


2020 Jurors

Daniel and Kara Hidalgo

Daniel & Kara Hidalgo are the founders and directors of Idaho Art Lab, a visual arts center in St. Anthony.  They lead weekly paint outs and week-long painting retreats in our national and state parks for Plein Air in the Parks and Yellowstone Forever Institute.

Daniel has been finding inspiration for his artwork in the quiet stillness of Yellowstone's wondrous landscapes for many years.  He lives in Teton, Idaho, and is the director of education at Idaho Art Lab, where he teaches painting, drawing, sculpture, and pottery.  He also creates hand-carved block images printed on paper made from bison dung at his Dung and Dunger Paper Arts Studio.

Kara is the executive director at Idaho Art Lab, where she teaches film, darkroom and digital photography, painting and print making.  Her commercial photography has appeared in several magazines, including Sunset, and helped her clients win international design awards.  She is an oil painter and award winning watercolor plein air painter.
