2020 Jurors

Daniel & Kara Hidalgo

Daniel & Kara Hidalgo are the founders and directors of Idaho Art Lab, a visual arts center in St. Anthony.  They lead weekly paint outs and week-long painting retreats in our national and state parks for Plein Air in the Parks and Yellowstone Forever Institute.

Daniel has been finding inspiration for his artwork in the quiet stillness of Yellowstone's wondrous landscapes for many years.  He lives in Teton, Idaho, and is the director of education at Idaho Art Lab, where he teaches painting, drawing, sculpture, and pottery.  He also creates hand-carved block images printed on paper made from bison dung at his Dung and Dunger Paper Arts Studio.

Kara is the executive director at Idaho Art Lab, where she teaches film, darkroom and digital photography, painting and print making.  Her commercial photography has appeared in several magazines, including Sunset, and helped her clients win international design awards.  She is an oil painter and award winning watercolor plein air painter.
