2009 Planet Arts Class Schedule

June 3: MUd Magic - SOLD OUT
Mud Magic starts with the basics pinch, coil, and slab construction techniques.
June 10: Collage and Decoupage - SOLD OUT
Kids will cut photos and combine with tissue to create colorful works of art.
June 17: Sand Painting - SOLD OUT
In this class, kids will design and layer colored sand to create exciting textural masterpieces.
June 24: Flag Painting - SOLD OUT
Kids will explore symbolism by creating a flag that represent themselves.
July 1: Mosaics - SOLD OUT
Explore the exciting medium of MOSAIC! Kids will look at mosaics from historical times, explore color and the mosaic palette, pattern and design, and the importance of shape. We will then make their own mosaic out of construction paper.
July 8: Drawing & Mixed Media - SOLD OUT
We will learn about Frida Kahlo. Vincent Van Gogh, and Jacob Lawrence and other artists and create our own mixed media works influenced by these master’s style.
July 15: Magic Paint Box - SOLD OUT
Just wait until we open the Magic Paint Box! Students will explore creative thinking by drawing, and then creating their own paitnings using found materials as paintbrushes.
July 22: Fantastic Clay - SOLD OUT
Students will explore basic hand-building techniques to create sculptural forms.
July 29: Moon Prints - SOLD OUT
Students will paint still life figures on plexi glass and then transfer them to canvases much like printmaking but with a fun twist.
All classes are $22/$18 for IFAC members
Every week on Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. each month we study a new medium.
