Jennifer Broschinsky

Reception with the artist Friday, June 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Willard Arts Center in conjunction with Idaho Falls Gallery Walk. Reception supported by KISU, FM-91, Your Ear to the World

Broschinsky is a Utah artist, who has exhibited throughout Utah. Her current work is about social niceties and cultural expectations, and the desire to fulfill or reject them. She paints using acrylics, in a technique known as scumbling, in which she layers muted colors over bright ones and gives each painting depth and vibrance. Hair features prominently in her works, often to express an emotion – Jennifer has uncontrollable curly hair that she often feels has a life of its own.
