Artist Statement

"Living in The USA for over 35 years I still remain Russian. Often people ask me if I miss Russia. I do, very much so, but my own way: I try to be in Art. Gorgeous Nature, my worn out Art equipment, smell of materials, artwork everywhere in my house- everything makes me feel at home. In my native language to paint, to make a fine art means "Bring to life," that is my tack. I paint the idea, not "things." Dynamic movement, colors which speak to each other, juicy brush strokes, good structure, energy, and positive vibes - that is what I paint.
Best achievement: my beloved teacher purchased my painting.
Being able to paint, draw or do any form of art is a privilege and responsibility. It truly makes me happy.

"Guest artist Emily Pinson is my student, friend, and my sister in Art. She is only 19 years old, and is a talented and hardworking young lady. She is a member of Gallery 12 and the Idaho Watercolor Society. Emily participates in local Art events, winning awards. I am proud! She has a great future!"
