About Rett

Rett Longmore is an award-winning sculptor and plein air painter native to Southeast Idaho. Trained with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and Animation, Longmore brings a unique perspective to his work, contrasting his professional background in animation, his sculptures and plein air landscapes instead strive to capture frozen moments or “key frames,” of narrative contemplation.

Inspired by his father, professional artist Ken Longmore, who mentored him in his youth, Longmore’s practice blends technical precision with emotive depth. As an assistant teacher to sculptor Rod Zullo (FNNS) in sculpture workshops nationwide, Rett takes joy in teaching sculpture workshops nationwide under Zullo, nurturing the next generation of artists. Longmore finds inspiration in the beautiful, from the prose of Cervantes and the Psalms of the Old Testament, to the vibrant rhythms of an Idaho sunset.

Longmore’s accolades include the prestigious Anna Hyatt-Huntington Award, the Brookgreen Medal, and two selections for the National Sculpture Society’s Annual Award Show. His work has graced exhibitions from Idaho to New York City, South Carolina to Indianapolis, and resides in private collections across the United States. His professional associations include being a Studio Artist at the Willard Art Center, a member of the National Sculpture Society, and a member of Gallery 12.

With this exhibition, Longmore seeks to share his vision of what is beautiful and lasting, inviting viewers to share in his vision of beauty and inspire him in return. He extends heartfelt gratitude to his wife, Anna Longmore, their two sons, his parents, the show’s sponsors, the Idaho Falls Arts Council, and his many patrons for their unwavering support.
