After spending the morning at the museum viewing steamroller art printing from 10A.M. to 2P.M., visitors are encouraged to continue celebrating the arts throughout the city with Jazz on A, a free concert brought to you by the Eastern Idaho Jazz Society from 11:30am – 1:30pm in front of Pachangas Mexican Restaurant. Community members can then enjoy free admission at the ARTitorium from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by the Idaho Falls Symphony's free Sounds of America Concert in the Park at Freeman Park Amphitheater at 5:30 p.m., which is celebrating America's 250th anniversary with patriotic favorites and beloved orchestral classics. The community is finally invited to dance the night away at the Idaho Falls Arts Council's Season Kickoff Street Party from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. outside the Willard Arts Center featuring live music from local band Unlabelled Mixtape and headliner 90's Mixtape while enjoying food, vendors, family activities, and more.

Rolling on the River

Experience printmaking on a giant scale at Rolling on the River: Steamroller Printing! Watch talented artists hand-ink their large, hand-carved wooden blocks, carefully position them, and then have a full-size steamroller roll over them to create striking oversized prints! This exciting outdoor event takes place in the parking lot outside The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho and offers a rare opportunity to witness this dramatic printmaking process in action. Community members can also create their own custom prints on T-shirts and canvas tote bags to take home. It's a fun, hands-on event for all ages. Come early; supplies are limited!

Enjoy one of America's truly original art forms during a free jazz performance on A Street in front of Pachangas Mexican Restaurant. The jazz quartet features the region's top musicians; Casey Emerson - sax, Freddy Gildersleeve – guitar, Alex Holloway – bass, and Bryan McDaniel – drums. A Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on the 19th allowing for plenty of room to set up your own chair, grab one of the available provided chairs, or better yet, listen to the concert while having lunch at one of Pachangas’ shaded sidewalk tables. This event is brought to you by the Eastern Idaho Jazz Society and Pachangas Mexican Restaurant in collaboration with Idaho Falls Day of Art.

Sounds of America: IFS Concert in the Park
5:30 pm | Freeman Park Amphitheater
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with the Idaho Falls Symphony at our annual free Concert in the Park! This evening concert, led by IFS Assistant Conductor Robert Tueller, features a festive program of patriotic favorites. Audiences will enjoy the cinematic excitement of John Williams’ Cowboys Overture, Charles Ives’ spirited Variations on America, the heartfelt beauty of Ashokan Farewell, and favorite selections from Ellington or Gershwin. A special highlight of the evening will be Copland’s stirring Lincoln Portrait, featuring a surprise guest narrator. The concert concludes with Sousa’s iconic Stars and Stripes Forever in a joyful celebration of country, community, and music.
Bring a blanket, gather your friends and family, and join us for this unforgettable day of arts and music celebrating America 250.
