Idaho Watercolor Society 2019 - "Abstracted"
Opening reception with the artists Thursday, September 5, 2019 • 5:00-8:00pm at the Willard Arts Center in conjunction with Idaho Falls Gallery Walk. Local featured artist: Elizabeth Bowham.
Our challenge for this exhibit was to paint a watercolor and then abstract that painting. Some artists painted the abstract first, then painted the more realistic work. It has been an exciting challenge and a way to stretch our skills. During the year, we held a workshop to learn more about abstract painting and practice some of its techniques.
Art comes from the technical ability to use materials and techniques. Add that to our life experiences and learning from others. The result is our interpretation of what we see and feel and translate into watercolor creations.
Also in this exhibition are the award winners from our Annual Juried Show in Boise (September) and our featured artist, Elizabeth Bowhan (October).
